In Gulf Standard Time (GST, UTC+4), the week opens at about 01:00 on Monday and closes at about 01:00 on Saturday during the northern summer, or 02:00 in winter. Trading passes through four main sessions: Sydney, Tokyo, London and New York. Activity and liquidity tend to be highest when sessions overlap, especially the London–New York overlap, which runs from about 16:00 to 20:00 GST in summer and 17:00 to 21:00 GST in winter.
